Veterinarians
Examine animals and diagnose their health problems. Perform examinations, diagnostic, medical, surgical and dental procedures on companion animals as needed. Medicate animals suffering from infections or illnesses. Prescribe medication. Treat and dress wounds. Test and vaccinate against diseases. Advise pet owners about general care, medical conditions, treatments, housing, animal feeding, animal behavior, and animal breeding. Provide preventative care to maintain animal health.
Requires First Professional Degree of Doctor in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or its foreign equivalent. Must be licensed to practice Veterinary Medicine in the state of California.
